House clearing services can empty a house efficiently but can lack the thought and care that clearing a home requires. Particularly if this task has to be done from a distance or time is tight. A home is the accumulation of things, experiences, and love. The things in a home don’t just have material value, but emotional, and even cultural importance. That’s where we come in. We ensure that everything finds it’s new and proper place, be that through sale, donation, recycling or disposal.
When you can’t be there to sort through Mum’s cocktail dresses, Dad’s antique tool collection and a lifetime of treasures, souvenirs and mementos, we will be.
We sort and clear a home in the way you would, if only you could.

Bereavement
During a highly emotional period our simple aim is to make it a little less so. Whether it’s time, geography or another reason that means you need help, we will design and execute the process with care, sensitivity and diligence.
Compliant with the probate process, we will make sure that all items in the home are distributed as per your wishes - , as estate executor or administrator - to beneficiaries, via sale, donation, recycling or disposal.

Downsizing
Moving home is challenging enough but fitting a lifetime’s belongings into a smaller property can be stressful. Our aim is to reduce anxiety to an absolute minimum and streamline the process.
We’ll manage the ‘initial sort’ (an objective eye often gives the impetus to make difficult decisions) then, while you transition between properties, we can hold items in secure storage until you are in the best place to decide their destiny.

Changing Circumstances
We appreciate the weight of responsibility that comes with power of attorney, and when a loved one is no longer able to live alone. We will support you through the difficult process of sorting through a loved one’s life in their absence.
Our aim is to execute the task with the care and sensitivity we’d show our own family, balancing respect for the past with preparation for the future. If help is needed to prepare the property for sale, we can do that too.
Empathetic tailored support
We meet you where you are - bereaved, downsizing, or transitioning - offering compassionate guidance and bespoke solutions (memory boxes, accessibility planning, etc.) to respect and meet your needs.
Recognising all types of value
Every item is reviewed for its financial, sentimental, functional, and cultural worth. This ensures treasured heirlooms are preserved, everyday essentials are retained, and less meaningful objects are responsibly passed on..
Responsible and sustainable sorting
We organise and clear with efficiency and environmental care - diverting reusable and recyclable materials from landfill and managing disposals thoughtfully to minimise waste.

About Peace by Piece
We developed Peace by Piece through practical experience of helping friends and family members to sort their homes during some of life’s big transitions. We believe that people need a new type of thoughtful and sustainable home sorting and clearing that recognises their needs at these different times.
We can sort through a home and ensure that everything finds it’s proper, new place. From high-value items which bring financial value, donating and recycling those things too good to throw away, to disposal in a way which is kind to the planet. And our sensitive approach makes sure we keep to one side anything we think might be important to you, that might otherwise be disposed of. We call these ‘keepsafes’.
Founded by Lisa and James, Peace by Piece is supported by a number of expert partners who can offer additional insight and experience that may be needed, from probate law, personal coaching, to house restoration and decoration. This means we can offer a comprehensive, end-to-end solution if that is what is needed. And importantly we can complete every project with the transparency and integrity it deserves.
