When a parent or loved one can no longer live alone, the practical demands arrive quickly and all at once. The home needs to be sorted. Decisions need to be made. And all of it has to happen against a backdrop of emotion, responsibility and, often, the pressure of mounting care costs.

Peace by Piece understands the weight of this. We work with whoever holds power of attorney or is acting on the family's behalf, moving at a pace that respects both the urgency and the sensitivity of the situation.

We sort through the home carefully, and as we go we set aside anything that might carry sentimental meaning to the family, things that could easily be missed but that deserve a second look. We call these ‘keepsafes’; they are logged, kept safe, and nothing is done with them without your instruction. Items with financial value are sold or auctioned through our trusted partners; others are donated, recycled or disposed of responsibly. If the property needs to be prepared for sale, we can manage that too, working with our restoration and decorating partner to ensure it is presented at its bes
